During the past year, I've attempted to evaluate the services that our chapter
provides our members. I've also tried to examine the disparity between what our
chapter is and what it could be.
We have
had a good year. Our membership is up over 150 and our general meetings are
well attended. The Christmas party was a huge success and lots of fun. The
upcoming membership dinner will certainly draw good attendance since it costs
members nothing. We hope to offset some of the cost with the silent auction and
raffles throughout the year. The successes we've experienced have largely come
from the work of your dedicated Board and the Events Committee. So I'd like to take
a moment to thank each and everyone for all the time and effort made in behalf
of one of the best chapters in the country. Thank you, thank you, thank you
all. There is such a wealth of fun and interesting people in our club, and I
hope we can continue to build on that during the coming year.
With that
being said, I think it is time for each of us to evaluate our own contribution
to the chapter and to our fellow members. We are only as strong as our members
make us, and I would like to think that we are moving in the right direction to
make our chapter the best that it can be. I hope that at our meetings and
socials, you reach out to make everyone present welcomed. A handshake and/or
hug is all it takes. There are no strangers at our meetings...only potential
friends. The choice is yours.
On March
24th, we host our gala 6th Anniversary dinner/dance. The anniversary party is
the only event open to anyone. We hope that you have enough pride in
your organization that you will invite a guest or two. It's a splendid
opportunity to show your friends/family what we are all about. We may be
getting older, but we sure remember how to enjoy a good party! Won't you join
us?
